“When new regulations
from the Danish Maritime Authority
were issued to the effect that all new ships
were required to be equipped with an acute burn
treatment unit, we contacted Kuvatek to hear if
they could help. And they could!
We simply sent the legislation and ministerial
orders to them, and they came up with a proposed
solution and design. Then we held a few meetings
to incorporate some new wishes on our end in the
solution that Kuvatek had put together based on
collaboration with Hvidovre Hospital and the
Copenhagen University Hospital. Among these was
the wish to achieve the
right temperature, which is critical
in burn treatment.
After approving the design, a new requirement
arose regarding the mounting of the unit,
so it would be secure even
in heavy waters. Kuvatek easily
solved that problem – at no additional costs to
us.
We are very satisfied with the partnership,
which has been characterised by attentiveness
and close collaboration. We had a few
requirements concerning the documentation that
needed follow-up, but otherwise it was perfect.
Today, two of our ships are equipped with the
unit, and four more will have it soon.”
